Nestled in the forest, this rustic yet modern high performance home celebrates our favorite material – wood. This classic Emerald home has structural elements and interior trim harvested right from the property. Traditional timber joinery, and natural wood trim and cabinets showcase the beauty of wood and inspire a sense of warmth and strong connection to the surrounding landscape. Based on a design by South Mountain Company of Martha’s Vineyard, this modest 1600 square foot home is heated by just a cord and a half of wood annually. It also features solar hot water and a grid-tied photovoltaic system.
